About Us

Founded with the vision and energy of Ivo Bauman in 1986, North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity is the second of 33 affiliates established in Oregon. Habitat affiliates are formed in a community as a Christian ministry that not only builds homes for those in need but also transforms communities.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity, an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.

North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your volunteer background check via your personal credit card (speak with your North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity administrator if you have any questions).

By self-purchasing your volunteer background check, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.
