Mission

To increase educational opportunities for children that are underprivileged or impoverished.

We have a two-fold mission. One, we want to increase educational opportunities for children that are underprivileged or impoverished. Everyone understands that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow and unless we ensure that everyone has a solid foundation in their education, it’s hard to picture them leading us. Our goals in this area include beginning a volunteer tutor service, originally in Westchester, then expanding to the rest of New York State. We also hope to fund and host events for local children’s hospitals and schools where resources are scarce.

Our second mission is to increase community attentiveness regarding educational opportunities. For one, we hope that our volunteers learn about the responsibility that they hold to ensure a positive future for all. Our major goal in this area is to provide a high school student with a scholarship to volunteer abroad at a school. The major impediment to young volunteers is the ability to find resources which allow them to experience the joys of teaching and learning. We also hope that the process of volunteering during events and tutoring will also provide unique opportunities to expand one’s horizons.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with , each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.

Teach to Learn Foundation, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.
