Our Mission

To provide quality arts programming to young people from the Bronx that will enable them to learn about themselves, others, and the world around them; explore topics and issues that affect them as they age and mature; and inspire them to dream beyond the image that is often presented to them about who they will and can become.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a board member, volunteer or employee with Artsmith, an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to beginning their service.

Artsmith, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our board members and volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your board member or volunteer background check via your personal credit card (speak with your Artsmith administrator if you have any questions).

By self-purchasing your board member or volunteer background check, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.
