History & Mission

MACSC embraces empowerment based community programming which includes: domestic violence advocacy and educational outreach, family development programming, emergency assistance including food pantry, satellite services like WIC and Child Health Plus enrollment, free income tax preparation, and preschool with wrap around childcare for working parents.
MACSC continues to develop programming which is in line with its mission statement to “Improve the lives of area residents through family support, empowerment, recreation and education.“ Our goal is to promote healthy relationships between families and the community at large. MACSC is not only a community center, but a true center for the community.”

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with MACSC, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to beginning their service.

MACSC, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your volunteer background check via your personal credit card (speak with your MACSC administrator if you have any questions).

By purchasing your volunteer background check yourself, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.
