About ESAHEC

The Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is a private, non-profit, 501(C) 3 organization, which became operational in 1997. Governed by a 16 person Board of Directors, AHEC services the nine counties comprising Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Mission

Through collaborative partnerships, the AHEC shall become the leader in providing educational services and programs to assist Eastern Shore communities in the recruitment and retention of health care professionals.

In order to be an employee or contractor with the Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center (AHEC), an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits and the Maryland Association of Nonprofits, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.
