About Eastport Girls Club
The Eastport Girls Club (EGC) is a grassroots mentoring program for girls in grades 5-9 who are living in public housing communities in Annapolis, MD. EGC operates in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA).
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide young women facing challenging issues within our community with enriching experiences and mentoring relationships that promote self-awareness, the attainment of individual goals, respect for self and others, and a willingness to explore and serve the world around them.
OUR VISION
Participants will graduate from high school, attend college (or some other structured educational or job training program), achieve financial independence, be in healthy relationships, be physically healthy, and feel confident in a variety of cultural and social settings.

Girls Club girls are strong, smart and successful. This overarching belief and expectation weaves through our mission, vision, and programming.
Background Screening Requirement
In order to be a volunteer or employee with an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.
Eastport Girls Club, as a nonprofit organization, typically incures the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.
