About CRCMC
In 1999, citizens of the down county area of Montgomery County became concerned about the growing number of neighborhood disputes that didn’t seem to belong in court. There was a lack of an appropriate, countywide venue for dealing with disputes within communities and between neighbors. That concern grew to include most of Montgomery County and resulted in the development of the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC). The official start of the program was July 1, 2001.
CRCMC is not-for-profit supported by grants and donations. We are approved by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) organization.
Our Mission
The mission of the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County is to help Montgomery County residents manage conflict in a constructive way, by offering collaborative problem solving services such as mediation, facilitation, community conferencing and training.
In pursuing its mission, CRCMC is committed to:
Making its services accessible to all County residents by using various neutral sites throughout the County.
Promoting positive relationships among the many ethnic, racial, religious, age and socio-economic groups within the County.
Using volunteer mediators who meet strict criteria in terms of training and experience.
CRCMC uses two mediators (the co-mediation model) for all mediations.
Background Screening Requirement
CRCMC, as a nonprofit organization, typically incures the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.
