Mission Statement

ArtStream's mission is to bring to individuals with disabilities creative and performance opportunities that help them gain the confidence to engage with the world.

Philosophy

ArtStream's mission is based on the belief that when people are engaged, stimulated, challenged and inspired, they surpass perceived limitations and undertake challenges they might never have considered.

Vision

To use the arts as a means for social change by empowering individuals with disabilities to participate and flourish in inclusive communities, and to develop the leading models for self-advocacy and for creating original inclusive theatre.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a contractor or employee with ArtStream, an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.

ArtStream, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our contractors.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your contractor background check via your personal credit card (speak with your your ArtStream administrator if you have any questions).

By self-purchasing your contractor background check, you will help provide additional services to those in need.
