Our mission is to provide opportunities in the community through employment and social experiences for people with developmental disabilities.

About Us

Since 1978, Abilities Without Boundaries has helped countless individuals with mental and physical disabilities lead a more productive and fulfilling life. What began with a few concerned parents has blossomed into an organization with a deep and profound respect for the individuals in our care. Formerly known as Cheshire Occupational & Career Opportunities (COCO), we are committed to providing a diverse and highly enriched experience with a focus on the individual needs of each of our clients.

We currently provide services for 68 clients in the areas of employment and day services. Our clients are employed in a wide scope of jobs in the communities we serve. We continue to look for new and innovative ideas that will allow our clients to share their talents with the greater community.

Our day services program focuses on instruction in the areas of daily living activities, gross and fine motor skills, social and emotional interactions. Our committed staff has an average longevity of nine years with the organization and they work to arrange a variety of activities to address each of these areas.

Abilities Without Boundaries is a strong advocate for the rights of people with developmental disabilities. For more than 30 years, we have been helping to make a difference. You too can become an advocate by spreading the word and supporting Abilities Without Boundaries.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with Abilities Without Boundaries (AWB), each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.

Abilities Without Boundaries (AWB), as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your volunteer background check via your personal credit card (speak with your AWB administrator if you have any questions).

By purchasing your volunteer background check yourself, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.
