About Us

Chest of Hope, Inc. was founded in 2005 by a group of friends and volunteers. This small group of friends and volunteers were heavily focused on raising funds in support of orphans and women who had experienced domestic violence globally. Recognizing the disparity between the increasing number of victims of domestic violence needing support and the limited availability of services locally in the community, in 2012, Chest of Hope, Inc., expanded its efforts to include the provision of education, intervention and support to individuals and families.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with Chest of Hope, an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to beginning their service.

Chest of Hope, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your volunteer background check via your personal credit card (speak with your Chest of Hope administrator if you have any questions).

By purchasing your volunteer background check yourself, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.
