Esperanca Volunteer and Employment Screening

NCN

Esperanca - Position Classification

About Us

Since 1970, Esperança has been bringing hope, providing health and transforming communities for the world’s poor. Through our volunteer surgical program, clean water and sanitation, home building, food security and nutrition, disease prevention, education and treatment programs, we have helped millions of people in 14 countries, including the United States.

We believe our work is most productive and effective when we partner with those in need. When we build homes, the families help with construction; when we dig wells, the communities provide the labor; when we supply seeds, the farmers do the planting. This model creates a holistic and sustainable approach. One that teaches and empowers people to take ownership and work together to transform their community into a healthy environment.

The results are life-changing for millions of people in the developing world. These poverty stricken communities now have safe homes to live in, clean water to drink, mosquito nets to protect their families from malaria and the opportunity to receive medical care or operations to improve their quality of life. We are promoting and teaching lasting change in the developing world and enabling individuals to lift the burdens of their neighbors.

Our vision is to continue these vital programs and multiply the life-transforming results in many more places around the globe in the years to come.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.

Esperança, as a nonprofit organization, typically incures the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your background check via your personal credit card (speak with your Esperança administrator if you have any questions).

By purchasing your background check yourself, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.

We are grateful for the support of our volunteers and appreciate your consideration of this offer.

By selecting the appropriate job classification from the list below, you will ensure that the appropriate type of background check is conducted on your behalf.
